What are Downloadable Audiobooks and eBooks?

Downloadable Audiobooks and eBooks from OverDrive are digital versions of books made available through the Internet.

The following types of materials can be checked out and downloaded from OverDrive:

• WMA Audiobooks in the OverDrive Media Console™ format
• MP3 Audiobooks in the OverDrive Media Console™ format
• EPUB eBooks in the OverDrive Media Console™ format - Coming August 1st
• PDF eBooks in the OverDrive Media Console™ format - Coming August 1st

To access digital materials at Rapid City Public Library, you will need:

• A valid library card
• Access to the Internet
• Free software for the computer and/or device on which you wish to download the Audiobooks and eBooks– available from the OverDrive website.

How long are the loans for eBooks?

• Lending periods are 7, 14, or 21 days.
• Early returns for eBooks: eBooks may be returned before the due date.
